The Mega Millions jackpot just hit $309 million, and it’s great timing because March is National Problem Gambling Awareness month!
The design of the Mega Millions ticket is interesting: it deceptively features a “Play Responsibly” banner down the side of each ticket, but by not clarifying what that means, they can simultaneously (1) claim they are warning consumers about the danger of their product, and (2) maintain ticket sales, by making the warning as unclear as possible (and thus non-alarming).
