Self-publishing is Easy with Claude Code

Claude Code publishing workflow

I’ve had a personal website for a decade and I post maybe once or twice a year. The worst part has always been trying to remember how to actually get my content live. My workflow is relatively simple, but there is a ton of friction when I try to recall the details of committing changes, where to create new posts, and the conventions for my specific static site generator. I usually end up making a simple mistake or spending 5-10 minutes trying to load up all that context into my brain.

Claude Code solves this problem completely. I just describe the publisher process, and then add it to the project’s claude.md file. Then anytime I want to create a new post, I can simply ask Claude Code to create a simple template using my conventions, and then commit, deploy, and build a new version of my site when I’m done.

It’s a really magical experience.

The best part is it means that static site generators get new life. You don’t need to worry about the specifics of Jekyll or Hugo. Once Claude understands your stack its smooth sailing. And everything can be hosted for free on a service like Netlify or Cloudflare.

Now I just need to figure out the writing piece…
