Why Messages in iOS 8 will make driving safer

I just downloaded the iOS 8 beta and after playing around, I can’t help but feel that audio messages will be a huge deal for a lot of people. Yes it’s a feature that’s existed in many messaging apps, but I think that including it natively will really encourage strong adoption, especially where it matters a lot: when driving.

Obviously driving and texting isn’t safe, but I see it every single day. With audio messages, it’s a simple two taps (tap and hold to record, and then tap to send). Reading messages is still a danger, but hopefully replying by voice will make the roads safer for everyone.
